KEY INGREDIENTS

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5:  Humectant with skin smoothing, hydrating, and firmness-enhancing properties; anti-glycation benefits - believed to interrupt a process in the skin known as glycation, which can cause skin's supportive elements to weaken, giving way to wrinkles and loss of firmness.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline): water-binding and skin-restoring properties; helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Carnosine: a biomimetic peptide with anti-glycation, skin-soothing, and antioxidant properties. It combats the glycation process, which causes collagen to become rigid and lose its ability to keep skin firm.

Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3)*: an antioxidant; it helps improve epidermal barrier function.

Sodium Hyaluronate: bioavailable humectant (moisture-binding properties) and a postbiotic: it can help nourish and maintain the skin’s microbiome.

Safflower Oleosomes- contain beneficial fatty acids, primarily linolenic acid, that can help diminish signs and occurrence of dry skin and lock moisture in.

Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) - aka FOLACIN, an antioxidant considered the new rejuvenating vitamin with hydrating properties.

Vitamins C and E - antioxidants, help defend skin from environmental aggressors.

Centella Asiatica Extract- aka Gotu Kola - an herb with potent antioxidant properties and a rich source of amino acids. Gotu kola's triterpenoid content, a pro-elastic compound, makes it one of the most effective herbs for skin elasticity.**

Polygonum cuspidatum root extract - aka Japanese knotweed - is an excellent source of potent antioxidant trans-resveratrol and has anti-glycation properties.

Scutellaria baicalensis root extract - aka golden herb, soothing antioxidant; helps defend skin from environmental aggressors.

Green Tea, Chamomile, and Rosemary Extracts - antioxidant and skin-soothing properties.

Bacillus/soybean ferment extractserves as a skin conditioning ingredient and has antioxidant properties.

Glycerin: is a skin-restoring and skin-replenishing ingredient; it helps the skin retain moisture.

Allantoin: skin-moisturizing and soothing

Glycation and skin aging connection

ACCELERATED SKIN AGING

What is Glycation?

Glycation is a natural process that starts in the early 20s and gradually intensifies.

Glycation is triggered by a surplus of glucose in the skin fibers, which causes sugar molecules to attach to the elastin and collagen proteins. This process leads to the formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs). Over time, the accumulation of these harmful molecules leads to inflammation and the weakening of collagen and elastin.

This weakening accelerates skin aging and shows up as laxity, premature wrinkles, and discoloration.

COMBAT AGEs

How can you fight glycation?

+ Use anti-glycation skincare products with ingredients designed to target glycation and the formation of AGEs, such as Carnosine and other peptides and antioxidants found in the Topical Skin Age-Defying Peptide Serum.

+ Manage your blood sugar levels by adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle.

+ Always protect your skin with a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen. The AGEs build up in sun-exposed skin.
